Statement date: 10 October 2026
Ethical Edge Academy is a trading brand of Social Work Projects UK Limited. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, responsibly and with respect for the dignity, freedom and human rights of all people.
We recognise that modern slavery is a serious violation of human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.
We do not accept modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking or the exploitation of children or vulnerable people in our business or supply chains. We are committed to taking proportionate steps to identify, prevent and address the risk of such practices.
This statement sets out our approach to modern slavery in our business operations and supply chains. It is published voluntarily as a demonstration of our commitment to ethical business practices and responsible working relationships.
Ethical Edge Academy provides professional education, training and development through face-to-face courses, virtual courses and associated learning resources.
Our business activities may involve working with independent trainers, professional associates, venues, technology providers, online learning platforms, website and IT service providers, and other suppliers supporting the delivery of our services.
We recognise that the risks associated with modern slavery can vary across different sectors, geographical locations and supply chains. Although our principal activities are professional training and education, we acknowledge that risks may exist within the wider supply chains on which our business depends.
We aim to maintain working relationships with suppliers and professional associates who operate responsibly and respect applicable employment and human rights standards.
We are committed to conducting our business in a manner that respects human rights and supports fair and lawful working practices.
In pursuing this commitment, we aim to:
This statement should be read alongside any applicable company policies, supplier terms and contractual arrangements.
We will review whether additional written policies or supplier requirements are appropriate as our business develops.
We recognise that identifying modern slavery risks requires attention to the people, services and organisations involved in our operations and supply chains.
Relevant areas for consideration include:
We aim to consider the nature of each supplier relationship, the work being undertaken and any information available about the supplier's employment practices.
Where a potential concern is identified, we will consider what further enquiries or checks are appropriate and what action may be necessary to reduce the risk.
We recognise the importance of understanding how suppliers and professional associates conduct their business.
As appropriate and proportionate to the nature of the relationship, we aim to consider:
Where concerns arise, we may seek further information, review the relationship or take appropriate action, which may include suspending or ending the relationship where justified and lawful.
We recognise that effective due diligence is an ongoing process. We will seek to develop our approach in line with the size, nature and complexity of our operations and supply chains.
We encourage concerns about possible modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking or labour exploitation connected with our business or supply chains to be raised promptly.
Concerns may be reported to:
Email: jeremy@socialworkprojects.org
All concerns will be considered seriously and, where appropriate, investigated or referred to a relevant authority or specialist organisation.
Where a concern is substantiated, we will consider appropriate action, taking account of the circumstances, the safety and interests of any affected individuals, and our legal obligations.
We will not knowingly disregard credible evidence of exploitation in our business or supply chains.
We recognise that awareness is important in identifying possible signs of modern slavery and understanding how to respond to concerns.
We aim to ensure that those responsible for engaging suppliers, commissioning services or managing relevant business relationships understand our commitment and know how to raise concerns.
As our approach develops, we will consider whether additional guidance or training is appropriate for employees, trainers, contractors and other relevant individuals.
We recognise that a modern slavery statement should reflect practical action and ongoing improvement rather than a declaration of intent alone.
We aim to review our approach periodically, taking account of:
Where appropriate, we will record actions taken and use the findings to inform future reviews.
We will seek to ensure that our approach remains proportionate, meaningful and relevant to the development of Ethical Edge Academy.
This statement has been prepared for Ethical Edge Academy, a trading brand of Social Work Projects UK Limited.
It will be reviewed periodically and updated when appropriate to reflect changes in our business, supply chains, policies or approach to managing modern slavery risks.
